Remove password from PDF
Last updated: 2026-10-08
Unlock PDF is a free online tool that removes password protection from a PDF when you provide the correct password. The decryption runs inside your browser using qpdf compiled to WebAssembly, so the file and the password are never uploaded to a server. The unlocked copy keeps the original text, images and layout and no longer asks for a password. The tool cannot crack or guess passwords; if the password is wrong, it shows an error instead of producing a file. Unlocking is appropriate when you own the document or have permission from its owner; bypassing protection without authorization may be illegal depending on where you live. Unlocking typical documents takes only a few seconds. There is no login and no installation, and it works on desktop and mobile browsers. PDF Master Pro does not set a file-size limit, though very large files depend on your device's memory.
